I don't know who designed the characters, but most of the in game models are crap. Besides that very small gripe I have, this game is great. When I played it over the internet, there were tons of persistent worlds with different rules. Some went so far as to have different servers depending on the area you were in, were deathly strict following the DND rulesets, and banned people that went out of character. This game is great if you are into roleplaying with others, and if you aren't the single player campaign is very long and very fun.

You do know that NwN was released in 2002? Character models were good enough for an online-focused RPG.
@Abedeus I know when it was released, and just because it was 2002 does not mean that the models had to be as ugly as they were. There were tons of things you could do with character models in online games in 2002, not to mention we're talking about almost 10 years after EQ and UO - both massively multiplayer with 100% persistent worlds. I still gave the game 5 starts, and I explained that it was a very small gripe I had with the artistic team that created NwN.
